Did You Used Tattoo Aftercare When You Got Your New Tattoo?

Doing a survey, this is the business I run, a tat aftercare product, and was wondering what percentage of people in general, use aftercare??? If so, why – was it recommended to you by the artist or did you just hear about it or see it somewhere? Thanks for your input.

99% of artist will tell you how to take care of one, right or wrong, according to them, and should hand you a pc of paper that tells you again. The rest is up to you……
And a month later I can look at a tattoo, and tell you what you didnt do……..

I am using the after care that my artist told me to do. I got it today and he said lotion lightly every two or three hours to keep the skin moist but not to over do it. I bought the lotion at the shop that they recomment, Lubriderm scent free white … They also said that A&D is good for the first couple days if you want to use it and then switch to lotion. *The lotion was cheaper so that’s why I’m doing it*

I’m a huge fan of Tattoo Goo. It smells pleasant, doesn’t clog pores, and a little bit goes a very long way. It comes in a small tin for $7-10, but the high price is well worth it. It helps heal the tattoo to perfection quickly and will not pull out color. http://www.tattoogoo.com/

yes, i used`a cream called savalon, it was recommended by the tattooist to prevent the tat drying out, be careful not to put anything on it that will draw out the colour (no alcohol in the cream)

I used aquaphor per my tattoo artist’s instructions but they also gave me a small bottle of tattoo aftercare gel because it helped with the itching. That’s it though. I never bought it, they gave it to me.

I just used the basic over the counter A & D, but I did get Goo which is another ointment you can use. I did use them because I wanted my tattoo’s to heal well and stay nice for a long time.

Nope. I used A&D until it healed then Curel lotion. I have six tats and NONE of them ever peeled usikng this method. Most of the Aftercare products have alcohol or sodium laurel sulfate. These chemicals irritate the skin and can draw out the ink. I would never ever use those products on my beautiful artwork!
